Greetings from two friends who have decided to accept the challenge from the Georgia River Network to paddle 12 Georgia Rivers in 2012. We are both avid sea kayakers, but have not spent a lot of time on fresh water. This blog will document our explorations this year.
We have planned our first paddle for Sunday, January 22nd on Ebenezer Creek. The water level is very low, but should be passable. We should have a group of about 6 intrepid paddlers on this trip – more to follow soon!

Love reading your adventures. I am an avid canoer and paddle almost all flat water rivers in NC, SC, and Ga.
What are the remaining 10 rivers?
Hi Don, Thanks for your comment! We haven’t yet set the remaining 10 rivers. We have a number we want to include, but we’re saving a few for warmer weather and spring/summer foliage. Any recommendations? Favorites?
Yes, I loved the Ohoopee but paddled it in flood stage and want to go back when the river channel is more defined. The Satilla River is nice but way below Waycross, also the St. Marys River is a nice river. I have posted trip reports on GA Rivers in http://paddling.net go to places to paddle and pull up GA. This year our weekly canoe camping river will be the Ocmulgee from Hawkinsville down to Lumber City, over 100 miles. I really enjoyed the trip report on the Canoochee, I have always wanted to paddle up above Ft. Stewart.
When you did Ebenezer Creek at the take out, did they charge you for each car parked there? I know they have undergone new ownership at the boat ramp on the Savannah and saw the charge was kind of steep but was wondering if that is just to use the boat ramp.
